Vacancy Description

The Surface Finish Centre requires an excellent and well-established Tooling Planner.

Ideally this person will be a well-seasoned Engineer, has worked on the shop floor (however, this is not essential) but it is essential that they must have experience of working in an office environment designing/completion of tools.

Ideally if they have come from JLR this is a massive bonus.

The successful candidate will undertake the following duties:

To manage the specification, design, materials selection and purchasing of new and existing process tooling and tool cleaning processes.
Manage and plan funding for future structure & model projects, identifying changes required to existing tooling and additional needs. Supporting this with sound business plans and implementation opportunities, ensuring ‚ fit for purpose and cost effectiveness.
Create a strong link between production and planning departments
Be able to lead strong and robust problem solving teams.

Qualifications and Experience

In this role experience is key. The successful candidate will have an established portfolio of experience in tool design and manufacture.

Therefore, the required qualifications are as below:

Broad knowledge of paint process equipment in automotive industry

– Time served apprenticeship in tool making
– Good project and supplier management skills
– Good organisation and presentation skills
– Good networking and communication skills
– High level of initiative and decision making

– PC literate

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
This position is for a 9-month sabbatical cover.
