JOB TITLE: Electrical Systems Engineer

RATE: £28.60ph (Freelance/Ltd Company contract)

LOCATION: Gaydon

DURATION: Up to the end of March 2020 – poss on rolling contract

WORKING HOURS: 40hr per week

SHIFT: Days

Position Description:

An opportunity exists to support a part of our customer’s future powertrain success within the Energy Storage Engineering team.

Responsible for delivery of Energy Storage components (High Voltage Traction Batteries) into vehicle programmes in accordance within Component Creation and Delivery System, meeting defined targets and attributes (Technical and Commercial Cost, Quality & Time).

Responsible for technical specification, supplier management and verification of the component to its applicable requirements, issue resolution and technical support into Launch.

Key Skills Required:

1) A good working knowledge and experience of CCDS/PCDS, Change Control, Product Definition and Change Ability to specify, validate and deliver complex components or system’s

2) Ability to lead the resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Design and Release Team environment

Experience Required

Engineering degree qualified or equivalent experience Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, self-confidence and a ‘passion for quality

Experience of delivery of modules/components including physical or software engineering, sourcing and delivery of components for vehicle programs

Previous product delivery experience within engineering departments on complex systems

Project management, self-organisation Coordination of multifunctional teams inside and outside JLR, awareness of Customer/Supplier relationships Comprehensive MS office (Excel, Powerpoint)

Experience Preferred:

Experience in the delivering technical products including physical and software engineering
Experience of Energy Storage or High Voltage electrical and control systems including CAN based systems

Knowledge of structural, mechanical assemblies

Experience of solving complex technical issues using a structured approach with the ability to identify areas for improvement ISO26262, ISO15288

Knowledge of Engineering tools – CAD, CANalyzer, DOORS
