Salary: Max £35 ph – PAYE Umbrella

Duration: Long term 12 months (on rolling)
We are currently recruiting for an Automotive Project Manager with NPI experience for a Prestigious Automotive Manufacturing company based in Chichester.
The vehicle launch department are responsible for the integration of new content into the manufacturing area.
You will play a key role as part of this team to ensure an effective launch of new products into the manufacturing processes.
You will be responsible for the planning and steering of the prototype vehicle builds.
You plan, setup and steer the processes that enable robust manufacturing confirmations for the new product projects.
You work strongly with the overall production project leader as well as other manufacturing technology teams and the engineers.
You are responsible for planning projects objectives with all project involved departments.
Development and alignment of project Milestones (Including Buildphases) for production, based on the Overall Project plan (quality, timing)
You are also responsible for the delivery of Key KPI’s relating to Launch and project deliverables for Production Key accountabilities
Overall responsibility to co-ordinate and steering the confirmation assessments for all Production-Milestones within the project.
Maintain Roadmap Structure.
Development and maintenance of project Milestones
Prepare and Monitor Status Reporting for Project Team evaluation; Plan Reporting Timeline.
Project timing and activities planning.
Define project timing plan for Production and ensure it fits to the overall project timing plan Monitor and steer milestone adherence.
Ensure the necessary escalation takes place throughout the project via the appropriate meeting forums and reviews
Validation of new features via virtual assessment, Test-cars, and pre-runner events Coordinates planning of all relevant validation processes with process partners, monitors validation, assessment and feedback.
Set-up / Manage Regular meetings (Project Days, Milestone Events).
Prepare for regular meetings (launch meetings, build meetings) with all relevant process partners and on-line project presence.
Attend & support working meeting as required.
Plan events and Communicate Show/Press Car Buy-off results to Plant and Project Management Purpose and subject of interaction with internal / external customers and key contacts Set up project content assessment matrix .
Steer Input from relevant departments.
Communicate confirmed features according to the Test-Car specification, Prepare Risk evaluation Matrix and First-option-Validation meetings
Negotiation with internal departments and any relevant process partners, whilst coordinating project management functions.
Ensure that all project team members appreciate the level of commitment to decisions made and the impact on the project of non-delivery.
Ensures appropriate design validation and feasibility studies are planned and carried out in the following areas:
FMK, Lessons Learnt, CAD, Cubing and Build Processes from build phase release pre-series
* Steer in alignment with plant functions
* Project timing plan and milestone reporting
* Project targets (quality, timing, costs, launch volume)
* Required validation processes (e.g. build phases, cubing, virtual assessment)
Educational Background / Professional Knowledge and Experience / Other Skills
* Engineering degree or equivalent
* Fluent English, fluent German is preferable. level of working experience required
* Good knowledge of Project Management
* Knowledge of vehicle build across all Technologies
* Launch and Change co-ordination knowledge
* Previous experience running cross-functional and international teams
* Ability to “see the big picture” in addition to the detailed issues of a specific department
* The ability to be critical and demanding as well as enthusiastic and motivational to maintain good working relationships
* Good to advance knowledge of MS and BMW/RR Launch steering systems (AOL, DAVE, RPlan,..)
